The Star Trek Online, though, is not like the usual games that I’ve played before. Missions are more sophisticated and are more of a challenge to get through than in other online mmorpg games.

I felt that I was wasting time getting nowhere and was running out of ideas of what to do. I decided that I should try to get a copy of a guide, and that’s exactly what I did. I wasn’t disappointed after getting to read the guide. I’ve always thought that I knew all the things that there were to be known in games since I consider myself to be a heavy player. However, this guide provided me with many more tips that I’ve never thought of and they turned out to be very useful. The guide did exactly what it had written in its description. I am playing on the side of the Klingon faction, and reached admiral rank unbelievably quickly, controlled all the battles, and collected starfleet merits and energy credits at a fast pace. I now felt like I was the efficient gamer that I was before.

What I liked most about the guide was that it gave me all the in-depth tips that only experts would know. To sum up, the guide is worth every penny that I paid for it.

Star Trek Online has a different take on combat than other more traditional online roleplaying games. There are two separate types of combat in this online game to reflect the different types of fights that are common in both the television series and the movies. They are Space Combat and Away Mission Combat. These two styles of combat tap into different skills and are vastly different from one another, giving the game two separate aspects and expanding the entire experience. Space Combat is all about tactics and slow combat, using brains and plans to defeat enemies, and as one would think from the name, it takes place in space using ships. Away Mission Combat is the fighting that happens face-to-face on planet surfaces, enemy ships, etc., and is fast paced gun-based combat.

Players control their ships during space combat, using the WASD keys to move around and the mouse to control weapons systems like the phasers and photon torpedoes. The type of ship and its different properties will determine how you should approach combat. Faster moving enemy ships need faster phaser fire to be damaged, so players would need to divert power from shields and engines to phaser power, and so on.

Away Mission Combat is a little different, and focused less on tactics and so will move much faster. Away Missions can happen on defeated ships, planets, space stations and other places. Players beam into them with your bridge crew (or other human players), who can be controlled like pets in other MMORPGs. Kits, which add certain special bonuses, can be applied to crew members and used to increase skills. Players control their captain and their crew members, using their different attacks, kits, and abilities together to defeat enemies. Away encounters often involve large numbers of enemies, and this scales depending on your experience and the number of human players in your party. Using the skills of your crew to exploit enemy weaknesses will be the key to being victorious in away team situations.

Star Trek Online has types of combat to please all kinds of gamers, and the variety in combat will keep the game from being too much of a grind. Players will need to learn the details of both types of combat to succeed, but with the scaling mechanism in-game completing quests and battles shouldn’t be too difficult.

Cryptic Studios has pretty much confirmed the Klingon faction. Obviously, there is more to these folks beyond the appearance difference. Some of the different attributes that the Klingon faction will

Majority of Klingon vessels will come equipped a cloaking system. What exactly does the cloaking system does, is still unknown, but it should come in handy during stealth attacks of some sort.

Klingon vessels will also come with more forward facing weaponry than the Federation. Great for head on attacks, but players will have to stay alert because side attacks could be lethal.

Another alerting attribute for Klingons, is that they can equip more bridge officers than the Federation. Does that make the Klingon stronger than the Federation. Well, yes and no. Every bridge officer has special abilities that enhances various attributes, but it does not determine the combat if these abilities are not allocated properly or used effectively. So by the looks the Klingons are head on, force their way through with brute force kind of faction, which will certainly spice things up in battle. Klingon will progress through the ranks with a PvP based gameplay, unlike Federations which will be more PvE based focused. This could be bad news for some, who plan to play as the klingon faction, but dislike PvP, due to the lawless enironment, whether its friendly fire or gangs ambushing other characters.

Be sure to be on the lookout for more quality insights to this latest mmorpg and hopefully our Star Trek Online Klingon is ready to be unveil in the weeks to come.
